Consent to use your Personal Information
Please review the following statements and acknowledge your consent for the Club to use your personal information in the manner specified below.
The Škoda Owners’ Club GB [the Club] requires some personal data from our members. However, we treat this data with great care and have outlined here how we’ll use that data.
Personal data is considered to be any data that can be used on its own, or with other data, to identify a person
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all Club members understand that their personal data is held responsibly and only for the purpose of fulfilling our obligations to members
The Club requires certain personal data in order to delivery our membership services. This includes, but is not limited to; name, address, email address and telephone number
The data is used only for the purpose of delivering our membership requirements
Only approved Club officials can access the Club’s database
We share the data with our approved printers, Lavenham Press, for the purpose of distributing our magazines
Wire Wheel Webbers LTD runs our membership management system and has access to the system for technical support only
We do not sell any personal data at any time
From time to time we will contact members to advise them of activities within the Club or to alert them members about the status of their membership
You hereby given consent for the Club to use your data in this way
The Club uses a third-party membership management system so does not retain personal data for the general operation of the Club
Where data is kept, a password protected hard-drive is used
PayPal retains certain data for each transaction. This is governed by PayPal’s own privacy policies. The Club’s PayPal account is accessibly by only two Committee members
Sub-databases may be collated from time to time (e.g. for the organisation of a show). These databases are deleted after the event
The Club retains a separate database for members paying by cheque. This database is kept strictly offline
Any photos used in our publication are done with due regard to personal data security. Where possible permission will be sought for anyone featured in the photos
At any time, a member can request a copy of all of the data that the Club holds on them. In order to do so members shall email enquires@skodaowners.com with their name and membership number. We will respond within 28 calendar days and members will incur no charge for this.
When a member’s membership is due for renewal we will send a reminder notice. A further reminder notice will be sent one calendar month after their membership expired. If, 28 days after this, they have not responded then we will delete all of the data that we store about that person from our system
Requests can be made by members for their data is be deleted. However, if this request is received during their membership period then their membership will cease. A refund may not always be possible in this instance
Requests for the deletion of personal data held shall be sent to enquiries@skodaowners.com
Members are entitled to complain about the way the Club has handled their personal data. In order to do so the member should contact the Information Commissioners Office on 0303 123 1113 or email
